How to get more email sign ups

Get more subscribers and customers

If you want the techniques I’ve used to build my list of 500,000 (and counting) subscribers, I’ve put them together in The Ultimate Guide to Email Copywriting.

Today’s question is this:

“How can I get more people to sign up for my email list?”

The perennial question!

You can use all kinds of fancy tactics like A/B testing, light boxes, or the latest plugin.

But all of that is useless without a good offer. With email signups, this is an irresistible bonus.

We call it a carrot. If you don’t have one, why should they sign up for your email list? They shouldn’t.

Here’s how you make an irresistible bonus:

  1. Identify your audience’s burning pain and struggle
  2. Give them a crunchy solution — something they can implement right now for a result

Once you have these, ask yourself what’s the best delivery method. Is it a PDF? Is it a video? Is it a ready-to-use template?

If you do these things, you can stop wasting time with a bunch of random tactics. And your opt-in rate — the amount of people who sign up for your email list — is going to soar.

How to turn subscribers into paying customers

Once you start building a list of rabid fans, you’ll want to engage them and turn them into paying customers. The secret to doing this is with great email copywriting.

If you’re interested in learning how to do that, I’ve put together the The Ultimate Guide to Email Copywriting.
