Rules for Sway gas giveaway

OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. Sweepstakes Period: The Sway Book Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time (“ET”) on June 27, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on June 30, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Period”).
2. Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of date of entry.
3. How To Enter: During the Sweepstakes Period, purchase a copy of Sway: The Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behavior and submit a screenshot of the completed purchase to swaygiveaway@gmail.com. Normal Internet access imposed by your on-line service will apply. All online entries must be submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on June 30, 2008 to be eligible for the drawing. No Purchase Method of Entry: On a plain 3″ x 5″ paper, hand print your complete name, address, daytime telephone number, e-mail address and date of birth, and mail your completed entry in a hand-addressed, stamped envelope, to: Ramit Sethi, 2269 Chestnut Street, #160, San Francisco, CA 94123. Limit one (1) mail-in entry per envelope. All mail-in entries must be postmarked on or before June 30, 2008 and received by July 2, 2008. Mechanically reproduced or automated mailed entries are not eligible. All entries must be complete to be eligible. All entries become property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
4. Random Drawing: The Grand Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about June 30, 2008, from among all eligible entries received. Prize will be awarded and winner will be notified by phone/mail/email.
5. Grand Prize And Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): Grand Prize: A pre-paid gas card for the sum of $1,000 (one thousand dollars) or equivalent. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Prize is nontransferable and no cash substitution is allowed except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize (or portion of prize) is unavailable for any reason. Income and other taxes related to the prize are the winner’s sole responsibility.
6. General Rules: By entering, entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. Winner and all entrants, as a condition of entry into the Sweepstakes, agree to release Sponsor and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, promotion agencies and each of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, members, employees, agents, assigns and all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes, the receipt, ownership or use of prize awarded or any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of the prize. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or website; violates the Official Rules; acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner: or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Sponsor and its Administrators are not responsible for incomplete, illegible, misdirected, damaged, lost, postage due or late mailed entries or technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes which may limit the ability to participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. Entries generated by script or bot are not eligible. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Sweepstakes if it cannot be completed as planned for any reason, including for infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or corruption of any sort. In such event, Sponsor will award prize from among all eligible online entries received prior to cancellation and all eligible mail-in entries received. As a condition of entering the Sweepstakes, participant (or parent/legal guardian if participant is a minor) agrees that: 1) under no circumstance will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for out-of-pocket expenses; 2) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and 3) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys fees.
