Reminder: $2,500 scholarship applications due Thursday, 1/15

Last-minute reminder: Applications for the I Will Teach You To Be Rich Scholarship are due this Thursday, 1/15.

I’m funding a pro-social entrepreneurial project with $2,500, plus mentoring and resources. I charge $10,000-$15,000 per talk, so I hope both are useful.

One last thing: When I was in high school and people were talking about applying to scholarships, some of my friends would complain about the competition. “Tons of people are already applying to those scholarships,” they would say. “There’s no chance I’ll get them.” And it turns out they were 100% right. By contrast, a few of us took our parents’ sage advice (“JUST APPLY!!!”) and applied. We won, collectively, over $1m in scholarships.

It’s always worth applying. You never know who will get it.

I have been looking to save money monthly. I have been reusing items in the house so that I will not spend. I have also been recycling. Something else that I did. I cut up my debit card. This was easy because I would overdraw in my account. This saved checking account fees monthly. Taking my lunch to work and preparing more meals has helped too, since I enjoy eating out.

Thanks for the positive words.
