2 quick things.

As IWT grows, I’m looking for more top-tier people to join my team. We’ve already filled several positions in the last 2 months, and I just added several more.

Right now, I’m looking for someone who is ultra-organized and detailed-oriented to be my Executive Assistant. The position is full-time and remote.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not an entry-level assistant position. You MUST have at least 2+ years experience as an Executive Assistant for a C-level executive. This role is built for a perfectionist who is used to completing dozens of tasks a day with zero errors.

  1. It seems like Chris Guillebeau uses “routine” where you would use “system”. Either way, it’s reserving your cognitive strength for decisions that you decide actually matter.
    Ramit describes a “Conscious Spending Plan” as part of his personal finance system. I wonder what it would look like to create a “Conscious Thinking Plan”, where you decide what things are important to think about/make decisions on and what things you want to create a system for once and just follow that system indefinitely.

      Systems building does require time and flexibility. Core components are likely to work for a long time and can be used over and over. But they do need to be upgraded to keep up with the changing times. Like a car that was built 10 years ago vs a new model. They both can get you from point A to point B, but which one is likely to have more robust parts, easier to fix, better fuel economy, more modern features? We all want a push-button, set it and forget it system; life rarely works this way. We must use an existing system as long as it produces results, but simultaneously acknowledge when it is time to upgrade or change systems to maintain the effectiveness of achieving goals.

      The good news is that systems allow us to focus our attention on only that which produces results. So finding a new system (or replacing a part of an existing system) is fairly easy, because we already have an idea of what results we want.
