I know, I’m a weirdo, but I love pens. I was thinking of what I could get iwillteachyoutoberich readers for Christmas, and the first thing that popped to mind was PENS. So I asked my friend Lily (a former Friday Entrepreneur) at JetPens.com to hook you up.
Go to JetPens.com and enter code “BERICH” for 10% off. Valid until December 5, 2007.
To put things in perspective, when my favorite pen was discontinued in the U.S., JetPens was the only store that could find it and put in a special order from I-don’t-know-where. Thanks, Lily.
I’ll be in Hawaii for a few days, so posting will be slow.

Leave a commentI don’t think there is a correlation between pen collecting and financial management…. actually unless my heirs sell my collection on ebay I’m pretty sure that ignoring the problem is my best course of action from a financial perspective. Right?
Sounds good! I just checked out jetpens, they have a large selection.
@chris : There are more than just pens at the website. There are also some cool office-related gadgets. Check it out!
I would be interested in promotional pens to promote my business. Jetpens should get on that, right?
Pens are great, but don’t you also love salsa? How about a hookup with some muy caliente salsa! (Keep it in mind for next year.)
And, if you really like ironing stuff, you can take a field trip and do some ironing for me.
Ramit: Since you’re such a pen fan (as am I – but I have an excuse, I’m a graphic designer) you need to check out Kinokuniya Bookstore
(1581 Webster Street) in Japan Town. Have Fun!!
Hmmm. 10% off $10 pens … sure this is my dream, but finding this on a website called iwillteachyoutoberich is a little disappointing. I got here from Violent Acres and she advertised you exactly for the latter. Coming after here a few times I was getting kinda disappointed. Now I do see how *you* are getting rich, so perhaps this is teaching by example ;-?
They don’t carry Lamy pens. Boo.
And, they group architect and artist together. Boo, again.
Ramit, which pen is the one they got for you? I’m curious how special this discontinued pen could be…
I agree with M&B–it looks like Ramit is getting pretty rich. Hawaii? I wonder if it’s all the ING Direct ads on this blog…damn. Interesting how he’d never tell us how much he’s making from this site but how he’s very open to discussing every other topic regarding personal finance.
Something as frivolous as pens, on a personal finance site?
The whole idea of special ordering pens online instead of buying Bic at Walmart for $0.05 a piece seems to be against the whole idea of this blog.
^^^ to miko: i highly doubt that ramit is getting rich from placing a few ads on his blog. unless you really think that a few cents for click-throughs really generates significant income…in which case you are sadly deluded.
To Helen — if he had huge traffic, he’d certainly take a good income from adds. There are bloggers out there living full time on their add revenue and claiming to make it solidly in five digits. Perhaps not in this case, but hey that pen store sure cut him some pie for the promotion – that’s how it’s normally done. Which is great and smart and a service to everyone and a way to go. I just wish that same for myself, too. Miko – I recently went ballistic and switched to Bics. Got mine for whopping 10c however, so will head to Walmart the next time. On the down side, my hand hurts already.
I didn’t make one cent off the “BERICH” code. I just posted it because I like JetPens and I wanted to hook my readers up.
Who doesn’t love pens!? It looks like a fun website.
Thanks for the tip and discount. I ordered your favorite pen just cuz I’m a pen freak too. It’s alright. My favorite is uniball signo 207. Most resembles fountain pens I grew up using and which aren’t very practical in my day job. Using one to write though helps the creative process immensely.
The Pen IS mightier!
yo RS, seems like you’ve been busy lately. What you working on?
