I’m taking your advice after reading the responses to my survey. So this Wednesday, I’m going to host an online chat. If you want to ask any questions about getting started investing, personal entrepreneurship, or pens/salsa, come check it out. This is my first time doing this, and if it goes well, maybe I’ll make it a regular thing.
What: I’ll host an online chat room to talk about personal finance, personal entrepreneurship, and whatever else. Very informal, very unstructured.
When: This Wednesday, August 23rd, at 7pm PST (that’s 10pm EST).
Where: Come to this site, iwillteachyoutoberich.com, to access the chat.
PS–If you have any suggestions for good chat software to host this, please add a comment!

Woe is me! I wish I could be a part of this chat. Sadly, I work from 4pm-2am. It would be great if you could give a chat on a regular basis, but maybe mix the schedule up a bit so everyone could have their say in time.

Why not just get a channel on IRC, you can make IRC hyperlinks that open up the persons IRC client and connect directly to the channel. Plenty of free IRC software. You can admin the room and promote certain users to have privleges, boot abusive users. Maybe people will end up just staying in the room and chatting amongst themselves.

I'm assuming you're going to log this chat, Ramit?

If you are just looking to allow people to talk with you one-on-one, you could always give www.meebome.com a try.

cgiirc is one of those programs Daniel mentioned; it lets you access an IRC chatroom from your web browser.

Do you think there is a possibility of co-hosting such online chat? I have been wanting to do this, except that I'm still in the process of building enough web audience to enable sufficient participants for an online chat.

If you want to use the www.businesschatroom.homestead.com its already set to go. Its easy to use. Some people have trouble with other chats and you will end up spending your time explaining to people how to get in the chat. This is easy and set to go.

Will there be transcripts, or at least a summary of topics and key points? As an alternative to a chat, why don't you simply host a forum?
Incidentally, we are still in Daylight Saving Time, not Standard Time; but I don't think anyone will be confused by the schedule.

I'm going to join the people requesting a transcript, since I have a class at that time.
