Wait, wait! There's a use for this! I can use it to bribe my students to work! Yesh. I get the free soda (which being a twit, I would never buy on my own), and then I offer it up to our worthy university students to actually, like, write a coherent essay. Hey: what's a 22% interest rate compared to the good of tomorrow's leaders?

And while I'm at it, I pitch them a Dyson for $1,200. Excellent!

This reminded me of story from long ago. When I was first out of college, during a recession, I desperately took a job door-to-door selling German vacuum cleaners (vorwerk, I think they were called). For is for real! The man and woman sales managers were old D2D sales pros. To train us, they put us in a big van and we drove out to the country looking for small homes or mobile homes with giant satellite dishes (this was in the mid-80s). But first off, we stopped off at a grocery store and bought 2 dozen 2-liter bottles of Pepsi. WTF! "Why"? I asked the sales managers and they burst out laughing. "For a 99 cent bottle of Crapsi, these people will let you into their home for an hour to sell them a $1200 dollar vacuum cleaner!!!! (that they didn't need...)". Incredibly, it worked. I did this for a week; sold one vacuumn cleaner, and got out forever. Amazing!

Only Wal-mart could pull that off... a 99-cent bottle of soda in exchange for a 22% interest rate on a credit card. Are people actually falling for this?

Wow, Wal-Mart knows how to grab people with a good deal. An income generating mechanism for them and all they had to pay was a 2 liter. I'll be upset if I saw someone go for that deal.
