“Dream Job Elite” is a go. Plus, free videos.

I’ll make this quick — there are 3 things I want to tell you about today.
1. “Dream Job Elite” is a go.
The response about my material on finding your Dream Job has been surprising even to me. For example, here’s a random internet forum posting where someone used my free material to get a phone interview in mere days (“This is the fastest response I’ve ever had”).
So — I’m doing it. I’ve decided to run my first 1-on-1 program to help a few of you find your Dream Jobs. The program is code-named “Dream Job Elite” and I just got off a staff call about the details. We’re pulling out all the stops to make this incredibly valuable and personal for the small, elite group I assemble.
2. Something cool for you: Free videos
I recorded a bunch of videos answering your questions about finding a Dream Job. These are new videos — you haven’t ever seen these before (nobody has) — and I think you’ll enjoy them. As usual, even if you can’t join this 1-on-1 program, you can CONTINUE to expect free material from me that rivals any paid material available anywhere.
- “How do I find – and land – un-advertised jobs?”
- “How can I grow my network when I don’t know anyone with connections?”
- “How do I negotiate my salary when they tell me the salary isn’t flexible?”

3. What’s next?
On Friday, I’ll email people on my Insider’s Email List all the details of the 1-on-1 Dream Job Elite program. It’s a premium program that’s not for everyone, so if it sounds interesting to you, great. Make sure you’ve subscribed to my list — and confirmed — so you get Friday’s email.
This info won’t be shared on the blog. Why? Because I’ve found that if someone hasn’t taken action to sign up for my list in years of me mentioning it, they likely won’t follow through with the requirements of my advanced material. So, if you’re considering the 1-on-1 program, subscribe via the form at the bottom of this post if you haven’t already.
If you’re not interested, don’t worry — there will be more Dream Job-related material coming out in the next few months.
One last thing…
Check this out: I serendipitously stumbled on this article from this issue of the New Yorker, in which surgeon Atul Gawande, the noted surgeon and one of my favorite writers, describes his experience hiring his own coach. As he writes,
“…I watched Rafael Nadal play a tournament match on the Tennis Channel. The camera flashed to his coach, and the obvious struck me as interesting: even Rafael Nadal has a coach. Nearly every élite tennis player in the world does. Professional athletes use coaches to make sure they are as good as they can be.
But doctors don’t. I’d paid to have a kid just out of college look at my serve. So why did I find it inconceivable to pay someone to come into my operating room and coach me on my surgical technique?”
Later, after Gawande decides to hire a surgical coach, he notes that “that one twenty-minute discussion gave me more to consider and work on than I’d had in the past five years.”
Don’t forget to sign up!
If you want all of the details on my Dream Job Elite coaching program, make sure you’ve subscribed and confirmed to my Insider’s Email List. It’s the only way to get all of the information and apply. Details go out Friday.
